North East Arkansas Bicycle Coalition is having a meeting concerning linking NE Arkansas to the other 10 states by way of Crowley's Ridge...
Linking Jonesboro to the MRT would awesome for Jonesboro and all cyclists in NEA!
Dr. Ruth Hawkins has asked me to help gather all the area cyclists for a meeting with her and the director of the Mississippi River Trail. They are now considering linking NE Arkansas to the other 10 states by way of Crowley's Ridge--possibly getting on somewhere just below Cape Girardeau, Missouri and going as far as Helena, then linking to the Mississippi River State Park route from Helena to Rohwer and cutting over to the levee to follow it on down to link with Louisiana. We need to talk about the MRT, whether or not such a connection is feasible, and brainstorm some ideas. This is an amazing opportunity to expand our access to the MRT, to showcase the great cycling in NEA, and draw in visitors from all over. I hope that all of you will join us.... and please invite anyone else you know who might be interested!
