Ever wonder what it was like to ride a cyclocross event? Like to try it out without the pressure and travel of going to a race? Now you have the chance. See below for details:

Arkansas Bicycle Club Meeting Minutes Oct 8, 2009 The meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM by club president Jim Britt. Jim discussed upcoming events:
Oct 18 - CARP Mtn bike race and festival at Camp Robinson Oct 24 -
Mt. Magazine ride Oct 30 -
Nov 3 Bike Ride Around Ark (BRAA) 2, a self-supported Ouachita tour. Call John Linck or ride schedule for more details
Nov 6 - Sandwiching in History Ride. Leaves 10 AM from LR side of BDB. 15-20 miles, home tour, and lunch.
Nov 20-21 Hot Springs Overnight, discount rooms available at Park and Arlington hotels. There will be SAG support. For more info on these and other rides check the website.
Program: No program tonight. Arky 100 packets were distributed to those attending Announcements: Arky 100 this weekend Meeting adjourned at 8:00 PM. Next meeting will be Nov 12.

We will be registering and giving out pre-registration packets at the Arky, beginning at 7:00 AM, October 11, at the Sheridan Recreation Center pavilion. See you there. It looks like we'll have a very cool start. I will see if Rest Stop #1 can offer a jacket drop, with pick-up back at the pavilion when you get in. Put your name in your garment.

IF YOU MAIL IT IN NOW, THERE IS A CHANCE IT WILL NOT BE RECEIVED BEFORE THE RIDE AND YOU WILL HAVE TO REGISTER AND PAY THE DAY OF THE RIDE. REGISTRATION FEE IS THE SAME ON THE DAY OF THE RIDE AS IT WAS BEFORE, SO YOU WILL NOT PAY ANY MORE ON THE DAY OF THE RIDE. WE WANT YOU THERE. COME ENJOY THE BEAUTIFUL WEATHER SUNDAY!!!!!!!

Down here in the Rocktown, we got something big brewing on the horizon. On Sun, Oct 18 the CARPe diem MTB Festival touches down to mother earth at Camp Robinson in North Little Rock, AR. This extravaganza of fat tire folly will include an amazing AMBCS race on one of the best trail networks in "The Natural State", plus a Kid's Race to kick things off, 3 live bands, free food for 400 people, free beer from New Belgium, bike vendor booths, trail & environmental advocacy groups, a Pixie Race, and even a drum circle complete with bellydancers. This is much more than just a race, this is an event; something the whole family can enjoy.
