For the past few years I have not been writing a blog on any of the rides, etc. but maybe it will change.

This year we are back to Southeast Arkansas.  We will take in Cane Creek State Park near Star City after a 35 mile initial ride to begin the BRAA.  The second day through Dumas, AR to Pickens for a lunch in a neat general store.  After lunch we will ride to Pendleton, AR where we will camp in a federal park for two nights.  The main event for the "off day" will be a trip to Arkansas Post, which was the first settlement in Arkansas.  There is no actual settlement because the Mississippi River took it out a number of times, but there is a lot of history displayed.

When we hit the road again we will ride to a "rails to trails" path for a few miles.  This is a chat surface with the paved highway running parallel so you can choose the surface you want.  At the end of that trail we will cross over to ride on the top of a levee.  This is a paved surface and will take us to Arkansas City where we will spend the night.  There will probably be cows near or on the levee.  Just wave to them and go on, they are nice guys, mostly.

There is a cafe in Arkansas City that will open for us the night we are there.

The next day is a ride to Lake Village for lunch and then on to the Lakeport Plantation which was built just prior to the Civil War.  Interesting place.  The camp that night is at the Chicot County park.

The sixth and last day is a 38 mile ride back to our vehicles.  Probably have lunch in McGehee, AR.
